WELCOME!!

This is BSPSC's 23rd year of competition.

Divisional rules will be strictly enforced......it is your responsibility to understand or ask about equipment. Un-bagging will be done in the SAFETY AREA or under the direction of a range officer. There will be rewards for those that volunteer their time.

BRING A FRIEND OR SOMEONE NEW TO THIS GREAT SPORT.

MATCH RULES

ALL BSPSC MATCHES will be conducted under the rules of the United States Practical Shooting Association as set forth in its most recent rulebook. At this writing that is the January 2004 ("green book") Edition. The only exception is the "all steel" match to be held in April. That match will use the same rules except that there will be no power factor (minimum caliber .38 Special / 9mm) and any safe belt/holster arrangement will be allowed.

BSPSC range rules require a COLD RANGE. Firearms may be loaded only on the firing line at the Range Officer's direction. Auto loading guns must have an empty magazine well & the hammer must be down on all guns.

CASING, UNCASING, HOLSTERING & UNHOLSTERING your gun may NOT be done at your car. ALL gun handling, including cleaning, must be done in the safety area or on the firing line under the direction of a Range Officer. Gun handling on ranges not being used in the match is subject to the WMF&G Association rules.

A SAFETY AREA is provided for the competitor's convenience. No ammunition shall be handled in the safety area. Violations will result in match disqualification.

EYE AND EAR PROTECTION is mandatory for each participant in the match and eye protection for any spectator.

ALCOHOL AND OTHER MIND ALTERING DRUGS are not allowed at the Deer Creek Range. Anyone, who, in the opinion of the Match Director or Range Master, is under the influence of any drug, including alcohol, will be asked to leave the range.

With the sole exception of the April Steel Match, your AMMUNITION is subject to UNANNOUNCED TESTING over a chronograph to insure that you are competing at your declared power factor. Should you fail to make declared power factor your scores will be adjusted. You may be tested more than once; the lowest reading is definitive.

AMMUNITION TESTING CRITERIA requires a sample of 6 rounds taken. The bullet is pulled from one and weighed and the others will be fired until a velocity reading meets or exceeds the required velocity. If one round meets power factor requirements the competitor passes; if not he/she doesn't.

SCORING will be done by computer using the latest version of the USPSA EZWinScore program. The steel match will be scored by an alternative method.

MAGNUM PISTOL LOADS are discouraged on steel targets though any legal caliber (i.e. .357 Magnum at major power factor) may compete. Should any course require use of a shotgun, we recommend No. 6 or larger lead shot. Steel shot and slugs are not allowed on steel targets.

ALL DIMENSIONS AND DIAGRAMS should be considered estimates and are subject to change due to range safety or other considerations except for USPSA Classifier Stages. Some stage diagrams do not include dimensions. Dimensions are only for the convenience of the setup crew and are not included on any course for which we have a scale drawing. Targets will always be close enough to hit and distant enough to be safe.

POPPER CALIBRATION will be done prior to the start of competition. If you feel a good hit with legal ammunition failed to knock down a popper, you may request that the calibration be tested if it is still standing. If the target is out of calibration you will be awarded a reshoot. Under no circumstance will you be awarded the target.

ARBITRATION FEES will always be equal to the match fee.

MATCH FEES will be $15 for regular pistol matches and there will be no prize tables. Special match fees for the 3 gun match and section championship will be charged. Trophies will be awarded at all regular matches for High Overall and 1st place in class for all Divisions.

It is the INDIVIDUAL COMPETITOR'S RESPONSIBILITY to learn and abide by all rules governing our sport. Please ask if you have questions concerning any rules or procedures.
