Greetings,
If you thought that a bunch of white stuff on the ground and cooler temperatures would save you from my ramblings about the club, you were mistaken. I will, however, keep this month’s message relatively short.
Sean Boushie has been busy crafting a new storage rack for our stage equipment in the garage. It will optimize the space utilization and allow easy access for match setup and teardown. Deb Wolverton has spent the last 6 months coordinating some exciting events for the season and creating our 2024 events calendar which display BSPSC, Speed Steel, WMFGA and Bitterroot Blaster events. The calendars will be available at the Winter Steel event, BSPSC matches and various stores in Missoula, and are also available here.
A reminder that we will host a Chief Range Officer seminar on April 6-7. If you are a certified Range Officer and would like to progress to the next level, here is your chance. The seminar will cover advanced subjects such as stage management, match management and stage design. Registration for the seminar is available at USPSA Seminar Details - USPSA.ORG
Finally, we will host the 2024 Area 1 Steel Challenge Championship on July 12 – 14. Registration will open on February 12th. If you would like to help staff the match, please contact me by email.
See you at the range,
Scott
Many of you may know Joel Sylvester. For those who don’t, he is a longtime member who served on our Board of Directors, helped create our Practiscore system, and configured our wi-fi system at the range. Despite severe health issues he continued to support club activities by helping with registration, stats, and as a GSSF Range Officer.
Joel is now hoping that someone can help him find a kidney donor. He was diagnosed with end stage renal failure last year and has hemodialysis several times each week. He has a GoFundMe site to spread the word and to receive any donations that people may want to make to help offset the multitude of transplant expenses not covered by insurance.
